Empire Verona Relay

Though not easy to find despite being on a prominent street downtown, once you find it, you arrive at a well managed haven for the traveller. Check-in was swift and smooth, with Nicole and Alice at the desk. Nicole briefed us efficiently off a map on what and how to do. This made it possible for us to experience the beautiful little town easily by walking all over the important sites two times over in a span of 24 hours. Briskly first in 2 hours and a follow up visit to those sites that we wished to see in detail, on the next day. The room was comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast was of adequate variety and tasty. The lone lady chef managed the catering efficiently. A well run property managed entirely by women Highly recommended

TL;DR - great place if you have/like earplugs. It is hard to say anything bad about the hotel itself: - great location, walking distance from train station, super close to city centre where all attractions and shops are; - super helpful staff working there, willing to help; - easy check in process; - good breakfast. even though scrambled eggs by the end of breakfast time looked pretty sad, I was happy with what I got; - nice spacious room with mini fridge and big bathroom. But… there is a restaurant or whatever in the same building where music plays till 1am (it happened for two nights). And you cannot avoid it. Same for street sounds. And I doubt that this problem is something owners don’t really know about, since I found one review that said exactly the same thing. I don’t like making people feel uncomfortable, so I didn’t bother staff with it. Also I don’t like changing rooms, so couldn’t find a solution, I had to accept the situation, which was kinda okay, it was my decision, but I think this info had to be shared in advance. I’m booking hotels instead of train station benches for food at breakfast/shower/warm blanket and calm sleep. Knowing about boogie nights I’m about to have, maybe I would pick a different option. So if you are lucky and you manage to get the room without a free DJ - that’s a good place to stay

The Relais Empire is within walking distance of the Verona Train station and the major sites in town. There are a variety of elegantly appointed rooms, The check in desk is on the first floor, there is a small elevator, as well as marble stairs. Be careful when it is raining, since you enter through a driveway. The staff was very pleasant, even if we did have trouble finding their doorbell, due to construction on the facade with scaffolding and at various times people and trucks obstructing their sign. The receptionist in the afternoon provided good advice about sights and restaurants, even though she had to pop out to help some other guests park their car, leaving the desk unattended for some time. The room was comfortable, with some chairs for seating and a mini fridge, though the power is connected only when the keycard is in the slot. Our bathroom was strangely equipped, with a bidet as well as what appeared to be a hand shower next to the regular shower stall. That said, the drain did not work well, and water spilled onto the main floor, which did not have a drain hole. Would definitely consider staying here again due to the location and the comfort of the accommodations.

It was my favorite hotel stay during our 2.5 weeks in Europe! Check in was so easy, the receptionist was super sweet and helpful, and the room was beautiful. The bathroom was spacious also and water pressure/temperature was fantastic (when you’re humid and sticky from walking in Italy, you get it). Cleanliness and comfort were good for us on this visit! Also, it was close to pretty much everything (you can walk or take transit). Breakfast included and it was your typical European spread. I appreciated being able to leave our luggage after check out as well until we needed to catch our train in the afternoon. Thank you and I hope to visit again someday!

We LOVED it!! 🤩 Everything was perfect! The room had a good size, very clean and with historical details. The staff was great and during the check in the lady explained us the main points to visit Verona. It’s very close to the train station (10 min walk) and to the city center (5 min walk)! Highly recommend!! We’ll stay again next time we’ll visit this lovely city!
